OSCAR WILSON INSPIRED CALIGRAM
This is a oscar wilson inspired caligram made from scratch then produced on photoshop and illustrator.
oscar wilson is a artist who bases his work on a a caligram which is simply putting text in a shape to give a unique effect. Oscar wilson is probably most famous for his advertising work on london , this is a qwerky yet exciting form of graphics , with this in mind and the context of surfing we were given a list of surf related words in which we should include in our own shaped caligram.
To start of with in this process we drew the caligram and then scanned it in so we could start the work on the computers.
Using photoshop to clean up any messy parts from the photo copy we now had a fine liner outline with a clean background we then took it in to illustrator to start colouring it in. Live tracing is a system inside illustrator where it gives you the power to highlight lines in a picture and then colour them in a simple yet effective way.
As you can see in the pictures above there is a non coloured version , a final coloured , and what it would look like on a tshirt. the final outcome of this task came out well and i think the colours of the palm tree do give a sunny beachy effect.
